The best early learning experience
At our preschools located in Berkeley, Alameda County, we are dedicated to fostering curiosity, discovery, and a joy for learning in every child. We believe that each child is unique, with their own learning style, and we strive to create an environment that supports their individual needs. Our curriculum is designed to center around the interests of our students. We believe that when children are engaged in topics that they are passionate about, they are more motivated to learn and explore.
We offer both full-day and part-day preschool programs to accommodate the needs of working parents. Our full-day program provides a comprehensive learning experience, while our part-day program offers a flexible schedule for families who may not require full-time care.
Our Full-Day and Part-Day Preschool to Pre-K Programs
Our Preschool, and prekindergarten, Big Oaks Learning Center, offers parents the flexibility to choose between programs that are full day or half-day (mornings or mornings plus lunch). Parents can also choose how many days per week they want, from two days up to five days. And parents also select which days of the week to send their kids (e.g for the four days per week program, parents can choose Monday - Thursday, Tuesday–Friday, or any other combination of four days they prefer).
Passionate teachers
Our teachers work closely with the children to identify their interests and incorporate them into the daily activities and lessons.
Supervision to keep children
Our care centers meet the highest safety standards required by the California Department of Education and child care licensing. Our center directors and teachers are certified by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.

Our preschool program employs experienced teachers who use a variety of classroom activities and curriculum to support the learning and development of young children.
Our curriculum focuses on building pre-literacy and pre-math skills, socialization, and developing a love for learning. In addition, our program provides healthy meals and snacks and social services such as counseling and family advocacy.
We strive to ensure that our preschool program is an optimal environment for every child, regardless of their background or circumstance, to reach their full potential.

Pre-K
- Our comprehensive Pre K Program is aimed at providing early childhood development services that cater to the physical, emotional, and cognitive growth of young children. Our Early Childhood Impact (ECI) programs offer warm, safe, and nurturing environments, where children can embark on an exciting journey of learning. Our program is staffed with a team of highly qualified professionals who are passionate, caring, and supportive. They are equipped with the knowledge and expertise to guide children through their developmental milestones and foster their love for learning. Moreover, we believe in the power of building a vibrant community, and that is why our services extend beyond the classroom. We provide opportunities for parents to participate in leadership and policy-making groups, make new friends, and connect with the community. At all times, our services are tailored to meet the needs of children, families, and the wider community, promoting respect, inclusivity, and diversity.

School Age
Our school-age program is aim to support the development of children between the ages of five to twelve. The program is designed to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn, grow, and develop important life skills. At our school-age program, we understand the unique needs of children, and we strive to provide activities that are both educational and fun. Our curriculum is based on the principles of creativity, critical thinking, social and emotional development, and physical activity. We aim to create an inclusive and welcoming environment that encourages children to explore and discover new things. Our dedicated staff are passionate about working with children and have a wealth of experience in childcare and education. We believe that every child is unique, and our goal is to help them reach their full potential and become successful, confident, and happy adults.

Day care program offer
Hours of Operation
The center operates Monday through Friday, providing care from 7 A.M. to 6 P.M.
Weekend services may be available based on demand and program requirements.
Big Oaks Learning Center Inc., formerly Ephesian Children’s Center, offers a comprehensive range of services to meet the diverse needs of our community.

Full-Preschool Center
We provide full-day care for children aged 2.6 years through 5 years, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for their growth and development.

Part-Time School-Age Program and After-School Program:
We offer both part-time school programs and an enriching after-school program. Transportation services are available for children enrolled in our after-school program.

Emergency Care: In cases of unforeseen circumstances,
We welcome children into our 3–4's program based on their birth year.
We take a comprehensive approach to meeting the requirements of the whole family. Regular
collaboration between educators, parents, center directors, and specialists ensures that each
child receives the unique assistance they require to continue learning and developing.
To link children and families to essential resources and assistance when required, BOLC maintains solid ties with school systems, mental health providers, and community groups.
